Outdoor maths

Last week we were outside with Craig again and this time we used compasses. First we went into partners and we did a course using bearings. It was tricky ! Once we had finished all 6 courses we got into a line and Craig gave us all a compass. Next Craig showed us how to hold the compass and also how to use it. We now know how to put the red arrow facing where it says "read bearing here". Then we turned the outside of circle that had degrees on it to a given number and then we pointed in that direction. We enjoyed this activity.
